What We Do
Our goal at AMCC is to show students the link between math, computing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. AMCC accomplishes this through courses, exercises, lessons, expert guest speaking events, volunteering opportunities, and interactive presentations.
AMCC has biweekly meetings on Zoom and In-person on Thursdays. We have partnered with the University of Michigan and Stanford University to get members private access to different top-of-the-line collaborating/learning resources. In addition, we bring in Guest speakers from different universities and industries to talk about artificial intelligence and machine learning and also have volunteering opportunities in the CS field for members.

University of Michigan Guest Speaker (3/24/2022)

- Raj Rao, a computer engineering professor from UofM, visited Novi High School to give insights on career opportunities in the computer science field, talk about real-life applications of computer science (Including A.I. and machine learning) and answer questions about the field.
- It was one of our in-person events and meetings, the meeting was a great success. We saw our largest member turnout, positive feedback, and most importantly more opportunities with Professor Rao and the University of Michigan computer science resources in the future.

- We collaborated with the World Computer Exchange, a leading nonprofit, to organize the collection of old computer peripherals for donation to developing countries. The computer donations were used in a global network to enhance communities in these countries.
- This was a 7 month long volunteering opportunity AMCC set up where AMCC members donated, gathered, cleaned, repaired, packaged, and shipped computers and computer parts to coding boot camps, schools, and educational sites in communities like Puerto Rico and Kenya.
- This was a very successful partnership as we donated over $35,000 US dollars worth of Computers and Computer Parts on behalf on Novi High School to the World Computer Exchange

The Applied Mathematics and Computing Club is presenting an opportunity to students that has not been given previously at NHS. With a combination of self-paced courses, Artificial Intelligence projects, Computer Science related volunteering opportunities, and new partnerships AMCC is spiking the interest of students around NHS. Starting as an interest group last fall we received immense support from NHS students with over 120 interested students by Early December. Since then AMCC has had a mission to serve our members with new opportunities, give back to communities in need, and get real-world experience to give AMCC character.
